About
Hi, I’m Alessandro.
I started out keeping fifty servers alive for an Italian ministry, spent a few years building websites for anyone who’d ask, then moved to Berlin and wrote a lot of Ruby, first as a backend developer, then as a technical lead. Today I lead an engineering team at a tech company, and somewhere along the way I became slightly obsessed with AI agents.
Not the demo kind. The kind that has to work on a Tuesday morning when you haven’t had coffee yet: with memory, real tools, sensible permissions, and a way to tell when they’re wrong.
This blog is where I write down what I learn while building them, including the parts that went sideways. I’m especially interested in taking real, boring processes and redesigning them around agents without losing the humans along the way: measuring before and after, handling exceptions, and keeping things reliable.
I’m based in Rome. When I’m not arguing with a language model, I’m probably trying to recreate Korean barbecue at home or waiting for a loaf of bread to rise: two things that, unlike my code, refuse to be rushed.
